Marc-Henri Degrott has always had a passion for painting. If creation has always been a part of his life, he is nevertheless heading towards a career without any link with art. Thus, in order to satisfy his need to create, he attended evening classes in applied art and advanced courses in the studio, then he exhibited regularly and received numerous awards to encourage his beginnings. Finally in 2006, he left his job to declare himself a professional painter. Having experimented with all techniques, oil remains his favorite medium. Close to nature, it is from the landscapes discovered during his travels that he draws his inspiration. From a sketch, he carefully selects the colors that define the atmosphere of each creation and then he executes his works with painting knives and brushes according to the ?alla prima? technique. He composes his canvases according to the light of the day and tries to immortalize those ephemeral moments that have so fascinated landscape painters. The changing character of nature being at the heart of his approach, he seeks to capture each of its variations in order to translate all its subtleties in his works. Today, as a revealed painter, he is exhibited by recognized galleries and participates in figurative art shows in France, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
